United Airlines has had a rough couple of months. Between the public outcry over non-revenue passengers, dress codes and the video of a passenger's violent removal from a flight, it's safe to say that the airline doesn't have the best public relations at the moment. Most recently, United has been involved in an incident concerning the well being of a passenger's violin.

When Yennifer Correia was asked to check her 17th-century violin, the musician inquired about any other options that would allow her to take the instrument on board. The situation only escalated from there, culminating in a physical altercation between Correia and an airline supervisor. The Washington Post reported that during the scuffle, Correia's hand was injured. It is not known to the extent, but this sort of injury can be devastating to a musician's livelihood.

Luckily, Correia was able to book another flight on a different airline and carry her violin the whole way. While to some it might not seem like a huge deal, as we have reported in the past airlines are sometimes terrible when it comes to handling instruments. Here is hoping that Correia will fully recover and has better traveling experiences in the future.

Below watch Correia's interview with Houston's KPRC television news reporters.
